XVIII PREMIO INTERNACIONAL DE CERÁMICA CONTEMPORÁNEA  CERCO 2023

RULES IN SPANISH AND ENGLISH

1.- Podrán participar, tanto de forma individual o colectiva, autores de cualquier nacionalidad, con un máximo de dos obras.

2.- Las obras que se presenten no podrán haber sido premiadas en otros concursos.

3.- Las dimensiones no podrán exceder de 2m. en su parte más larga ó 1m3 de volumen total, ni de un peso superior a 50 kg.

4.- El plazo máximo de participación será el 11 de junio de 2023 a las 23:59 horas (hora española peninsular) y se podrá realizar a través de dos vías:

La inscripción se gestionará online a través de mundoarti.com de la siguiente manera:

• Adjuntando las obras (en diferentes ángulos y sobre fondo neutro) en formato JPG 300ppp con un peso de hasta 5MB.
• Cumplimentando los datos técnicos de la obra.
  • Importante especificar en el campo de “Descripción” una breve descripción de la obra; web, Instagram, Facebook y otros si se tienen; el año de realización; y el valor para el seguro.
  • Importante especificar también en el campo de “Técnica y soporte”, la técnica y los materiales utilizados.
• Cumplimentando los datos personales.
• Adjuntando breve currículum actualizado.
• Adjuntando breve biografía para comunicación (máximo 1500 caracteres).

Dicha inscripción también se podrá gestionar a través de correo postal, cumplimentando el boletín de inscripción descargable aquí. Si se presenta más de una obra, se deberá realizar por cada una de ellas un boletín de inscripción.

Las imágenes serán utilizadas para selección, difusión y catálogo en el caso de ser seleccionadas.

Toda la documentación que acompañe a las solicitudes de inscripción, pasará a formar parte del archivo de CERCO. Una vez realizada la inscripción se recibirá un correo de confirmación.

5.- Entre las solicitudes presentadas, el Comité de Selección elegirá las obras finalistas, a partir de la documentación remitida. Su decisión  será notificada inmediatamente a los participantes.

6.- Las obras que resulten seleccionadas deberán enviarse, del 21 de agosto al 7 de septiembre. No cumplir con este plazo, supondrá la descalificación en el certamen. Una vez recepcionadas las piezas, la organización acreditará el estado de las obras y se pondrán en contacto con los autores ante cualquier desperfecto. La organización se reserva el derecho de exclusión de cualquier obra que no corresponda con las imágenes enviadas. La dirección postal para el envío se indica en el punto 05 de estas bases. 7.- El jurado estará integrado por personalidades cualificadas y reconocidas en el mundo de las artes plásticas y cerámicas. Su fallo será inapelable, teniendo además éste facultades para interpretar las bases y determinar las normas de su funcionamiento, así como declararlo desierto. El fallo se hará público el día de la inauguración de la exposición.

8.- Las obras seleccionadas y premiadas, serán expuestas a partir de la segunda quincena de septiembre hasta la primera de Noviembre en el Centro de Artesanía de Aragón y todas ellas figurarán en la  publicación general que se editará con motivo de CERCO 2023, Festival Internacional de Cerámica Contemporánea.

9.- La exposición viajará al Museo de Teruel hasta fin de año 2024. Una vez concluida la exposición en Teruel y recepcionada las piezas en el Centro de Artesanía de Aragón en Zaragoza se avisará a los autores para que ordenen la devolución de sus piezas.

10.- Toda obra debe estar correctamente embalada y protegida. Es responsabilidad del autor el traslado de las obras y su correcto embalaje, y éste será utilizado para el  traslado y la devolución de las mismas a través de la persona o agencia que el autor   designe. Toda obra que llegue dañada al concurso no será expuesta.

11.- Todos los gastos del traslado de las obras antes y después de la exposición en correrán a cargo del concursante. (El traslado de la exposición de Zaragoza-Teruel-Zaragoza se hará cargo la organización.)

12.- En caso necesario, los artistas deberán hacerse cargo de todos los costes, gestiones y trámites que se deban realizar en las aduanas, tanto en el proceso de entrada en España como en el proceso de salida. Para envíos internacionales es necesario utilizar una empresa de transporte privada   e informarse bien de las normas de aduana del país de origen. No se admitirán, por tanto, obras enviadas por correo postal internacional.

13.- Entre las obras seleccionadas, el jurado otorgará un Primer Premio dotado de 6000 euros y dos accésit sin dotación económica. El premio estará sujeto a la retención fiscal que corresponda, según la legislación vigente en el momento de su entrega. Salvo causa mayor, será obligatoria la presencia del autor premiado en el acto de entrega de premios para que este sea efectivo.

14.- La obra premiada pasará a formar parte de la colección CERCO, será expuesta en su exposición permanente siendo propiedad de la Asociación de Artesanos de Aragón. El artista premiado no podrá     participar en la siguiente edición.

15.- El plazo para la recogida de los accésit y las obras no premiadas tendrán como límite el 29 de julio de 2024. Transcurrido este periodo, si alguna obra no hubiera sido retirada se entenderá que el autor renuncia a ella, la organización les dará el tratamiento que considere oportuno.

16.- La organización asegurará las obras, una vez comprobado su estado,  al recepcionarlas, desde la llegada, hasta su salida una vez terminada la exposición.

17.- La Asociación de Artesanos de Aragón establecerá las medidas necesarias para el mantenimiento y conservación de las obras presentadas.

18.- Las normas de este concurso se entienden aceptadas por los concursantes por el sólo hecho de participar. Cualquier circunstancia no prevista en las bases, será resuelta por el comité de selección, el Jurado o la organización, según proceda en cada caso.

XVIII INTERNATIONAL CONTEMPORARY CERAMICS AWARD CERCO 2023

1.- Authors of any nationality may participate, either individually or collectively, with a maximum of two works.

2.- Works submitted may not have been awarded prizes in other contests.

3.- Dimensions may not exceed 2m. along their longest side, or 1m3 total volume, and none of them may weigh more than 50 kg each.

4.- The maximum period for participation will be June 11, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. (peninsular Spanish time) and can be done in two ways:

Registration will be managed online through mundoarti.com as follows:

• Attaching the works (in different angles and on a neutral background) in JPG 300dpi format with a weight of up to 5MB.
• Filling in the technical data of the work.
  • It is important to specify in the "Description" field a brief description of the work; web, Instagram, Facebook and others if you have them; the year of realisation; and the value for insurance.
  • It is important to also specify in the "Technique and support" field, the technique and materials used.
• Filling in the personal data.
• Attaching brief updated resume.
• Attaching a brief biography for communication (maximum 1500 characters)

The properly completed registration form, the curriculum and sufficient images for the correct interpretation of the work must be provided. The images shall be used for the selection process, for dissemination and for the catalogue if selected. If you submit more than one work, you must complete a registration form for each one of them.

All the documentation that accompanies the application forms, shall become part of CERCO's archive. Once the registration has been done, you shall receive a confirmation e-mail.

5.- The Selection Committee shall choose the finalist works from among the applications submitted, on the basis of the documentation sent.

Participants shall be notified immediately of its decision.

6.- The selected works must be sent between the 21st of August and the 7th of September. Failure to comply with this deadline shall result in disqualification from the contest. Once the pieces are received, the organization will accredit the state of the works and will contact the authors, in the event of any damage.

The organisers reserve the right to exclude any work that does not correspond to the images sent.

7.- The jury shall be made up of qualified and recognised personalities in the world of visual arts. Its decision shall be final and not subject to appeal. The jury shall also have the power to interpret the rules and determine the operating standards, as well as to declare it null and void. The decision shall be made public on the opening day of the exhibition.

8.- The selected and awarded works shall be exhibited from the second half of September until the first half of November. All of them shall appear in the general publication that shall be published on the occasion of CERCO 2021, International Contemporary Ceramics Festival.

9.- The exhibition will travel to the Museum of Teruel until the end of the year 2024. Once the exhibition in Teruel has concluded and the pieces have been received at the Centro de Artesanía de Aragón in Zaragoza, the authors will be notified to order the return of their pieces.

10.- It is the author's responsibility to transport the works and package them correctly. This same packaging shall be used to return the works through the agency named by the author. Any work that is damaged on arrival at the contest shall not be exhibited.

11.- All transport costs of the works before and after the exhibition shall be borne by the contestant. (The organization will take care of the transfer of the exhibition from Zaragoza-Teruel-Zaragoza.)

12.- If necessary, the artists shall be responsible for all costs, formalities and procedures to be carried out at customs, both in the process of entry into Spain and in the process of departure. For international shipments, it is necessary to use a private transport company and to be well informed of the customs regulations of the country of origin. Therefore, works sent by international post shall not be accepted.

13.- From among the works selected, the jury shall award a First Prize of 6000 euros and two runners-up prizes with no prize money.

The prize shall be subject to the respective tax withholding, according to the legislation in force at the time the prize is awarded. Except in cases of force majeure,

the presence of the winning author at the prize-giving ceremony shall be compulsory for the prize to be effective.

14.- The awarded work shall become part of the CERCO collection, being the property of the Association of Artisans of Aragon. The awarded artist shall not be able to participate in the next edition.

15.- The deadline for collecting the runners-up prizes and the non-awarded works shall be the 29th of July 2024. After this period, if any work has not been withdrawn, it shall be understood that the author relinquishes it, and it shall, for all intents and purposes, become part of the endowments of CERCO.

16.- The organisation shall insure the works, after inspecting their state on receipt, from the time they arrive until they leave when the exhibition is over.

17.- The Association of Artisans of Aragon shall establish the necessary measures for the maintenance and conservation of the works presented.

18.- The rules of this competition are understood to have been accepted by the contestants by the mere fact of participating. Any circumstance not foreseen in the rules shall be decided by the selection committee, the Jury or the organisers, as appropriate in each case.
